Helen Feehan
I discovered my passion for painting about twelve years ago and it has become a big part of my life ever since. My interest lies primarily in modern art, with a special focus on abstract expressionism. I find that this style allows me to express myself freely and to convey emotions through color, texture, and form.
My preferred medium is acrylic paint, which I find to be versatile and easy to work with. I particularly enjoy experimenting with metallic pigments, which I often incorporate into my pieces. These pigments add a unique depth and dimension to my work, giving it a shimmering quality that changes as the light reflects off of it.
Another technique that I love to use is gold and silver leaf. Applying these delicate sheets of metal to my paintings creates a stunning contrast between the lustrous metal and the matte background. The process of applying the leaf is intricate and requires patience and precision, but the result is well worth the effort.
Overall, I am drawn to the interplay of light, texture, and color in my paintings. Each piece is a reflection of my innermost thoughts and feelings, and I hope that they resonate with those who view them.
